  • Dr. Grynpas is studying factors that contribute to bone fragility that lead to fracture and to osteoporosis. His research ultimately asks the question, 'why do bones break?' with the goal of providing better treatments and prevention for bone loss and new strategies to prevent fractures. By studying bone biology, we try to understand the mechanisms behind osteoporosis and other bone diseases. It is important to realize that other diseases such as diabetes and arthritis can also affect the skeleton and lead to fragility fractures.
